What happens if I arrive in the middle of the night?

Arriving out of hours is not a problem at Broadhembury Holiday Park. We have an area specially designated for temporary overnight stays. Let us know in advance if you are likely to get to the park between 2000 hrs and 0800 hrs, and we will give you instructions on where to pitch for the night.

You are a country park. Will our children find enough to occupy themselves?

At Broadhembury Holiday Park we have a large children's playground, a sports field, games room and TV room. There is football, volleyball, etc outside, and pool, table football, pinball etc inside. See our children's page for more details.

I'd like to bring my dog camping with me, what facilities do you provide?

Here at Broadhembury we welcome all sociable breeds of dog, upto 2 per tent or caravan. We provide a dog exercise area and full details of interesting walks around the local area suitable to take your dog. When on the park, all dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times to avoid disturbing others.

Need to board your dog locally while you are staying at Broadhembury? dog owners often find they want to spend a day in France, out visiting a place where dogs are not welcome, or just a day’s shopping. Whatever the reason, you will find the Haven an excellent Kennels in which to board your dog, whether for a day or longer. I see you allow pets, but I'm allergic to dogs. I am concerned that this may cause me a problem?

Pets are welcome, but only on our Touring Park or owner occupied Holiday Caravans. On the park we have a dog exercise area, and many walks from the park through local woods and fields (details at reception) Pets must be kept on a lead at all times and not allowed to be a nuisance to other people. Pets are not permitted in holiday homes for hire.

Do you have a bar on the park?

Beer and wine are available from the park shop, but a bar is just a stroll away at 'Ashford Town Cricket Club' along the lane. Broadhembury visitors are always made most welcome in their convivial surroundings. During school holidays, playful youngsters can sometimes be a nuisance. What do you do about this?

We certainly do welcome families. However, our large, safe children's playground and playing field are adjacent to, but not amongst the caravans and tents. We are sure you will enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay with us.

Is there a swimming pool at Broadhembury?

There are excellent sports centres with swimming pools in the area. The Stour Centre in Ashford is only 10 minutes away, with probably the most up to date and largest swimming complex in the South East. Leisure pool with flumes and rapids, as well as lane swimming pool for those who want to get fit. At nearby Tenterden the Leisure Centre boasts a swimming pool with wave maker, flumes and other attractions.

Do you have a shop on the park?

Yes, in the reception building we keep various provisions - milk, bread, breakfast cereals, tinned and frozen foods, soft drinks, ice cream etc, and an assorted selection of wines and beers. And of course newspapers. There is also a Tesco’s store only 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes country walk from the park for larger items.

I heard someone talking about a ‘fully serviced’ pitch. Could you explain?

Our fully serviced positions are individual areas, 12m x 12m (39ft x 39ft), with a gravel hard standing of 8m x 5m (26ft x 16ft). Each position has parking for vehicles alongside. There is an individual service bollard which has : 16 amp electricity supply, with standard blue round pin plug; Fresh water with a standard "hoselock" connector, 2 x 32mm waste water away connections, for sink/shower, 1 x 80mm hopper pipe sewerage connection for chemical/holding tank fitting.

What is a Camper's Kitchen?

Our camper's kitchen is a spacious, convenient area where visitors may wash dishes, prepare food, and store perishable foods (clearly marked with name & date) in a fridge or freezer. There is ample worktop space, and four stainless sinks with free hot & cold water. See the Park Amenities page for further details.

I enjoy coarse fishing. What can you offer me?

There are two private lakes within 500 metres of the park, and daytime or night fishing can be arranged. There is also public fishing on the Royal Military Canal, some 3 miles away, several fishing boats at Folkestone organise seas fishing trips and excellent beach fishing at Dungeness, Hythe and Folkestone. Can you tell me about using public transport to travel to Broadhembury?

Trains from all major London Stations, most of the North Kent Coast, and as far west as Brighton come into Ashford International Train Station. You can also catch the 'Eurostar' to Lille or Paris in under an hour.

The local B Line bus stops at the end of our lane, and is 15 minutes walk from the park.

Local taxis cost from £7 to £10 from Ashford to Broadhembury, depending on part of Town you are picked up from and time of day.

I like to play golf, where are the nearest facilities?

Homelands Golf Course is only a 5 minutes drive. This pay and play 9 hole course also has a flood lit driving range. Visit their website for details. There is also 'Little Chart' golf club 20 minutes drive or for something really special why not try playing in the historic grounds of 'Leeds Castle

Is it worth bringing our bikes? Where could we use them?

Yes, do bring your bikes, there are several well signposted cycle routes to nearby villages and the ancient town of Tenterden. The local supermarket is a pleasant, 15 minute, mainly off road cyle away.

We love walking, what do you recommend?

Broadhembury is situated on the ancient "Green Sand Way", and there are many other well signposted footpath walks from the park. The North Downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty, is on the North side of Ashford, close to the historic village of Wye. What is a 'five star' park?
