I found everything on the park to be first class. We will be back next year. |

Why not take the family camping this summer? All kids will enjoy camping in Kent...Think of the environment, why go further?
It is what family memories are made of. It is reasonably inexpensive to buy your family tent and the necessary accessories. Many camping parks stock items you may have forgotten, or thought would not be necessary. At Broadhembury, we can supply most of your requirements along with food and wine for the barbeque and ice cream to cool you off after putting up the tent. Please note that disposable and on ground barbeques will burn the grass unless a stand is used. Ask at park reception if you do not have a suitable stand. Plan your trip together
Why travel miles from home for your weekend camping trips? Your children with be quite content with a local camping park, and very happy that they have not endured hours in the car. Putting up the tent for the first timeThis can be quite an experience. If possible maybe this can be tried in the garden first. If not, don’t worry, there will be plenty of helpful advice from other campers when you arrive at your chosen park – it’s the way many good friendships have started. Don’t be too ambitious.
Keep trips short, especially with young children. Don't worry that they will want to be taken out every day. A quiet day relaxing at the park, making new friends and playing new games is probably all that your young children will want. If you decide to take bikes, take your children off the park and let them enjoy riding along quite lanes and cycle routes. Most parks discourage children from continually cycling around without a planned destination as this disturbs others and can be dangerous. For this reason skate boards and roller blades are not welcome. Unless you have very small children, you will be asked to play ball games in the areas provided. At Broadhembury there is plenty of room for family cricket and rounder matches, as well as a 5-aside pitch.
What if the weather’s bad?
Most parks have full information of local attractions in their immediate area. Many will have indoor activities. At Broadhembury, our games room is always well used, with family tournaments of table tennis, table football or air hockey. Broadhembury is also conveniently close to the South East England Rare Breeds here, under cover, your children can meet the animals, enjoy the play barns, and even make you a pottery ornament. Swimming at the Stour Centre, only 10 minutes away, with its sparkling new leisure pool, flume and waves is a treat that will make up for the poorest of weather.
The countryside is lovelyModern camping parks help to take the hard work out of camping regardless of the weather (see our park facilities pages), all you need do is plan it, and enjoy it. Experience the pleasure of camping in Kent. You will be glad you did, and we ‘re sure you will want to repeat it. |
